Tommy Emmanuel’s Cuban Guitar Retreat
The Sept. 15-19 getaway is for players and music lovers of all ages, skill levels, interests and tastes. Attendees will immerse themselves in Cuban music, food and culture while enjoying a wide variety of activities and workshops in a non-competitive environment.
Sessions will be held at the Institute Superior Del Arte and the Cuban National Music Conservatory, home to some of the greatest musicians and music teachers in the world.
“The city of Havana, with all of its beautiful architecture, is going to be the backdrop for this retreat. If you come you’ll not only experience something completely unique, but you’ll also learn from Cuban masters as well as myself, Frank Vignola, and Vinny Raniolo,” Immanuel said. “In particular, I’m very excited to work with the great Pancho Amat. He’s arguably the best guitar player that Cuba has ever produced, specializing in a Cuban guitar called a tres. He’ll be playing a lot of the traditional style of Cuban music and I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can from them and all the other great Cuban musicians we will meet during our adventure.”
