South American Lollapaloozas Rescheduled To November & December

A representative for festival producer C3 Presents tells Pollstar that the South American Lollapalooza festivals in Chile, Argentina and Brazil are being rescheduled to the end of November/early December with headliners Guns N’ Roses, Travis Scott and The Strokes confirmed for each. 

“We are pleased to announce rescheduled dates for Lollapalooza in South America.  Lollapalooza Chile and Lollapalooza Argentina will be rescheduled for November 27-29, 2020.  Lollapalooza Brazil will be rescheduled for December 4-6, 2020,” the representative told Pollstar via email. “Headliners Guns N’ Roses, The Strokes, and Travis Scott are confirmed to perform at all three rescheduled festivals, and we will provide an update about fully confirmed lineups as soon as possible.”
The festivals were postponed due to public health and safety concerns amid everything being postponed in efforts to stop the coronavirus from spreading further. 
“In all instances, the health and safety of our fans, artists, staff and communities is our number one priority,” C3’s statement continued.
The events are huge draws, with Lolla Brazil attracting 246,00 fans in 2019 over three nights, grossing $14.4 million, while 2018 did 300,000 tickets and grossed $23.3 million as reported to Pollstar. 
The back-to-back events serve as a mini-tour of sorts to artists on the continent, where infrastructure is not always up to snuff for large-scale tours and travel expenses are high. Lolla Chile, while not as big, still is a major draw with 85,000 tickets sold over two nights in 2018, grossing $5.9 million. Lolla Argentina’s most recent boxoffice report submitted to Pollstar was from 2014, with more than 100,000 tickets sold over two nights and $10.7 million grossed.
