Norah Jones To Perform At Empire State Building For ‘I Dream Of Christmas’ Livestream

Norah Jones will celebrate the holidays atop New York City’s Empire State Building with the “Norah Jones: ‘I Dream Of Christmas’ Live At The Empire State Building” livestream event. The livestream, presented by Citi, will air on Jones’ YouTube channel on Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m. ET.

During the livestream, Jones will perform songs from her recent holiday album, I Dream Of Christmas, which was released in October and was followed by an expanded edition that arrived Dec. 3.

Jones quickly transitioned to livestreams at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and she became 2020’s top streaming artist due to her quick adaptation. The singer earned the top spot by an artist on Pollstar‘s Q3 livestreamers chart in 2020 after hosting 16 mini-concerts that totaled more than 6.9 million views, often performing material from her seventh studio album, Pick Me Up Off the Floor, released in June 2020. In a 2020 interview with Pollstar, Jones joked that she would rehearse the songs before her livestreams so that she wouldn’t mess them up online. When the numbers were tallied at the end of 2020, Jones was Pollstar‘s No. 3 streamer for the year.

While her livestreams over the course of 2020 kept things relatively simple and saw Jones sitting at the piano in her home, her upcoming holiday livestream at the Empire State Building will see her performing before a stunning view of the New York City skyline.

Jones grossed $176,165 during her June 18, 2019 show at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Hall, according to reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice. Her show at Clay Center in Charleston, W.Va., on June 19, 2019 grossed $126,750, and her show at Pines Theater at Look Memorial Park in Northampton, Mass., on June 29, 2019 grossed $139,838.

Prior to her Empire State Building livestream, Jones will perform on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Dec. 9. She’ll then appear on NBC’s “The Today Show” on Dec. 15, CBS’ “Saturday Morning” on Dec. 18 and ABC’s “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Parade” on Christmas Day.
