CAA Announces Nine Music Promotions Following Major Signings, Hirings

Following what it is calling a banner year of signings and hires, Creative Artists Agency has announced the promotions of Zack Borson, Kaitlyn Bruce, Alex Douma, Kara Enos, Omar Garcia, Brian Greenwood, Ariel Happe, Brad Pophal, and Jamie Shaughnessy, who all become either agent or executive.  

The appointments come following new signings for CAA including artists Zac Brown Band, The Weeknd, JoJo Siwa, Arcade Fire, Miguel, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chvrches, Charli XCX, Stormzy, and Playboi Carti, among others. 
“Given what our industry has been through over the past 20 months, we’re incredibly proud of the Touring department’s accomplishments, and are blessed to have an amazing team that stayed focused and diligent throughout,”  CAA Head of Music Rob Light said in a statement. “We have also been fortunate to have fantastic agents and executives join us over these past months. The entire team has worked tirelessly on behalf of our clients – their creativity and teamwork continues to serve the passions, needs, interests, and dreams of the incredibly talented artists we work with. Each of the nine people joining our Agent and Executive ranks today has earned their place among our talented colleagues and we look forward to their many successes ahead.” 
The announcement does not mention the agency’s plans to acquire major talent agency ICM Partners, which became news in late September and would be the biggest agency merger since the one that led to the formation of WME. 
CAA recently welcomed prominent music agents Matt Galle, Carly James, Mike Marquis, Mike Mori, Rachel Pestik, and Adam Voith, who added high-profile artists to the agency’s roster including Shawn Mendes, Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend, Janet Jackson, My Chemical Romance, Bleachers, and girl in red. 
Borson joined CAA as a mailroom clerk before serving as an assistant to Co-Head of the Global Hip-Hop/R&B Touring Group Joe Hadley. He has been promoted to Agent. 
Bruce began her career at CAA as assistant to agent Lucy Kozak, was elevated to Professional in CAA’s Music Marketing division, and will now serve as an Executive. 
 Douma previously worked at Paradigm Talent Agency, Fat City Artists, and RAD Entertainment. He has been promoted to Agent.  
Enos began her career at CAA as an assistant to agent Tim Beeding and was promoted to Coordinator. She has been elevated to Agent.  
 
Garcia joined CAA as a mailroom clerk before serving as assistant to Co-Head of International Touring Chris Dalston, served as Coordinator, and has been now been promoted to Agent.  
Greenwood launched his career in music as an assistant at Paradigm Talent Agency before joining CAA. He has been promoted to Agent.  
Happe served as a public relations assistant at Rock Paper Scissors, Inc. before joining CAA. She was elevated to Coordinator in the agency’s Music Brand Partnerships division, and will now serve as an Executive.  
 
Pophal previously served as an assistant to agent Alex Becket and Co-Head of Contemporary Music Darryl Eaton, before being promoted to Coordinator. He has been elevated to Agent.  
 
Shaughnessy began his career at CAA and has assisted agents Claudio Lillo, Jake Leighton-Pope, and Nigel Hassler, was promoted to Coordinator, and has been elevated to Agent.  
 Borson, Douma, Garcia, and Pophal are based in Los Angeles; Bruce, Enos, and Happe are based in Nashville; Greenwood is based in New York; and Shaughnessy is based in London.
