Knotfest Iowa: Slipknot, Faith No More Top ‘A Monumental Return Home’ Sept. 25
– Knotfest Iowa 21
It’s billed as “A Monumental Return Home,” and it appears to be just that, as Knotfest, Slipknot’s own destination festival, is stopping in the band’s home state of Iowa Sept. 25 with a heavy-hitting lineup that includes Faith No More, Megadeth, Lamb of God, $uicideboy$, Gojira and others.
The event takes place at National Balloon Classic Field in Indianola, noted on the poster as 14 miles south of Des Moines.
The lineup includes other notable artists such as hip-hop crossover favorite Tech N9ne, Trivium, Fever 333, Knocked Loose, Turnstile, Gatecreeper and Vended.
Faith No More, which hasn’t toured properly since 2015, recently announced it is moving its UK/European tour to 2022 but will be playing Riot Fest in Chicago in September as well.
Knotfest Iowa tickets will be available on pre-sale to Knotfest.com subscribers from 10 a.m. Central time starting today, with general onsale starting June 4. The counterculture icons known as Slipknot have confirmed they’re working on a studio album, with more information promised soon.
In related developments, the band’s news and content website, Knotfest.com is absorbing the band’s Outside The 9 fan club and will now offer fans of both Slipknot and heavy culture in general, the opportunity to gain access to exclusive content and opportunities first, starting at $6 per month or $50 annually, with a free tier also available.
Slipknot’s management at 5B has been instrumental in the development of Knotfest, which has played multiple continents, became its own tour, and was even poised to set sail as a cruise event. The company, which also manages Lamb of God and Trivium, also recently hired artist manager James Vitalo, bringing clients and fellow Knotfest Iowa bands Knocked Loose, Turnstile and Gatecreeper. Other recent projects from the company’s clients include a St. Patrick’s day livestream with Flogging Molly, Corey Taylor livestream and more.
