Pandora’s concert series will begin in virtual form July 28 with a performance from Kane Brown.
While it will not be the intimate artist-fan experience in asmall room with audiences invited based on their Pandora listening habits, the streaming platform is doing what it can to make the event special, with virtual meet and greets, Q&As with performing artists, access to exclusive merch, live chat, and more.
The first performance featuring Brown will be hosted by Storme Warren of The Highway radio channel on SiriusXM and will feature an animated short film narrated by Brown, based on a real-life experience. Restless Road will perform their song “Take Me Home,” the song’s first live appearance.
After the performance Brown and all subsequent performers will record a Pandora Story featuring artist commentary woven in between curated songs. The concert will be available through Pandora and some will be re-broadcast on SiriusXM.
Sponsors will play a large part in the digital concert series, as they do in the live concerts. Creative sponsors for this event include Persil Proclean laundry detergent, which is providing fans with a t-shirt; Cremo, a men’s grooming company that is sponsoring special “backstage access;” and Kingsford, which is sending fans grilling recipes before the performance.
“I love unexpected collaborations and finding new ways to bring my fans music, especially while we aren’t able to tour on the road,” said Kane Brown. “You all mean so much to me and I’m happy to team up with Pandora to create an amazing virtual performance with some surprises for you.”
Ticketmaster and Pandora unveiled an integration in May to bridge the gap between streaming and live.
Pandora was acquired by SiriusXM in February.
