Margo Price
“What she sings about is real. It’s not fictitious aspects of music that was created in a lab and delivered to her,” Paradigm co-agent Jonathan Levine told Pollstar. “What she sings about is life. They say the true definition of country music is three chords and the truth, and that’s what she’s doing.”
Levine adds that’s a factor in what makes Price’s traditionalism so very nontraditional in commercial country music.
“There’s a real groundswell that’s building based on the uniqueness and authenticity of her music and her voice,” Levine said.
“She made an outstanding album and she has an incredible live show, but a lot of the early interest was in her story itself,” co-agent Andrea Ambrosia added. “She’s a fresh face to the country scene and the music business, in general.”
She raised eyebrows with a “Saturday Night Live” musical guest slot just one month after her debut album release, followed by the late-night TV circuit and a full dance card of festival and other looks all summer. It’s all part of a carefully considered strategy by Levine and Ambrosia.
“Everything that we’ve been doing as a team with Margo has been very intentional and very much rooted in sustainable growth,” Ambrosia said. “It’s very important to us that everything we do in introducing Margo to the world is done in a way that ensures she is a career artist and this is just the start of a very long path for her.”
