Justin Moore
The album debuted No. 2 on the Nielsen SoundScan album chart. It’s Moore’s third album following 2009’s eponymous debut and 2011’s Outlaws Like Me. He’s supported by Scott Borchetta, the same guy who has put his Big Machine music power behind names like Taylor Swift and The Band Perry.
The tour, which kicks off Nov. 1 at the Shrine Mosque in Springfield, Mo., runs through August and hits so many cities that three different Springfields are listed: Springfield, Mo.; Springfield, Ill.; and Springfield, Mass.
Moore’s story is uncomplicated. Performing since high school, then touring with his uncle’s rock band, Moore arrived in Nashville in 2002 where he met the right people, like producer Jeremy Stover, who introduced him to Borchetta, who signed him to Big Machine imprint The Valory Music Co.
Since then, Moore has gained exposure on major tours with Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts and Eric Church.
“Justin’s work ethic is a big key to his success,” his agent, Lane Wilson, told Pollstar. “He can outwork anybody. Justin is a very genuine person and his fans appreciate that he actually lives the lifestyle that comes across in his music.”
Wilson added that Moore’s athleticism translates into a great live show.
“Every time he performs he leaves it all on the table and goes into it with the attitude that tonight he is going to give people their money’s worth,” Wilson said. “This has translated to a very loyal and rapidly growing fan base that feels like Justin is one of them, because he is.”
Meanwhile, although Moore has just had his fourth No. 1 hit with “Point At You,” his year may be notable for another song called “I Want It To Be Yours” about female backsides that name drops Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian. Don’t expect it on the radio.
