Paleo Changes Three Stages

Switzerland’s biggest festival is changing three of its stages in order to improve the sound and the sightlines for the crowd.

Paleo-Nyon Festival’s Le Chapiteau stage will become Les Arches, Le Détour will increase its capacity from 500 to 3,000 and switch  roles with the 2,000-capacity Club Tent.

The changes were made after an internet poll of more than 7,000 Paleo-goers, who also helped name the new stage.

For several years some of the concerts at Le Chapiteau have attracted audiences that were larger than the tent’s 8,000 capacity, so the festival has decided to move outside to a 12,000-capacity space.

It’s been called Les Arches because it’s next to the bridge that fans walk under when entering the festival site.

The 500-capacity Detour, which for five years has focused on new talent, has also been pulling far larger crowds.

It will now increase to a 3,000 capacity and stage talent that’s already on the up, while the new Club Tent will host newcomers.

This year’s Paleo-Nyon is July 23-28. The lineup will be revealed April 18.
