DEAG Spreads Its Local Influence
Peter Schwenkow’s DEAG has purchased a majority stake in Unna-based Handwerker Promotion, completing a network of local promoters that stretches throughout Germany.
It’s not been revealed how much DEAG has paid for its 51 percent stake in Handwerker, which promotes shows in North Rhine-Westphalia region cities such as Bochum, Bonn, Cologne, Dortmund, Duisburg Düsseldorf, Essen, Frankfurt and Oberhausen.
DEAG reckons the acquisition will yield revenues of at least euro 10 million by the end of the financial year. Shows in the pipeline include Peter Maffay, David Garrett, Iron Maiden, Neil Young, Justin Bieber, Eric Clapton, Eros Ramazzotti, Meat Loaf and Leonard Cohen.
It also significantly increases the ticket volume within the DEAG Group and strengthens its position in the field of ticketing and distribution in cooperation with Ticketmaster Germany.
Company founder and managing director Fred Handwerker will continue to work for the company on a long-term basis.
