Warming Up For Snowbombing 2013

Even before this summer’s outdoor season has ended, Austria’s Snowbombing Festival is already warming up for 2013.

The 12-year-old event that’s now staged at the ski resort of Mayrhofen will launch next year’s fest at a party at Amsterdam’s Milkweg club Oct. 18, part of the city’s annual Amsterdam Dance Event.

Snowbombing – or the “World’s Greatest Show on Snow” – is one of the first events in the festival calendar. Next year’s dates are April 1-6.

This year ADE, the world’s biggest club festival and business platform for electronic music, is aiming to be even bigger.

At the beginning of August it announced that up to 15 more of Amsterdam’s venues will take part and the music programme will be expanded to four days. The lineup will have 800 acts from all parts of the globe.

The main acts already confirmed include Afrojack, Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong, Richie Hawtin, John Digweed, and Paul van Dyk.

The 17th Amsterdam Dance Event is Oct. 17-21.
