Café Moves Next Door
Belgium’s Couleur Café will remain open in 2012 but make a temporary move into the premises next door.
The world music event that regularly attracts 70,000 across three days is making the switch because of construction work at its regular site at Brussels’ Tour & Taxis area.
The city’s port authority has offered the festival, which is regularly nominated for the “medium sized” European Festival Award, a 70,000-square-metre site that borders its existing home.
It’s actually larger than the festival’s current site, which will enable the organisers to reconfigure the festival and create more space for visitors.
The 23rd edition of Couleur Café is scheduled for June 29 to July 1.
