Roxette Worth 1M

Live Nation Sweden chief Thomas Johansson reckons that Roxette’s global jaunts will shift 1 million tickets.

Having played various festivals during the summer, the Swedish duo sets out on the next indoor leg of its ongoing travels at Vienna Stadthalle in Austria Oct. 10.

The itinerary also includes Germany, Switzerland, Spain and London’s Wembley Arena Nov. 15, the act’s first UK show since ’91. The Wembley show s already close to selling out.

Roxette will then return to the Nordic region, where it’s already on its second lap, before wrapping in Kiev, Ukraine, in December. The average capacity of the shows is about 10,000.

On Feb. 11 Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, who enjoyed chart-topping success in the ’80s and early ’90s, head off to warmer climes with dates in southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

The Australian shows shifted 60,000 tickets within a week of going on sale.

“If I had said we would do a million tickets when we first started out, I’m not sure if people would have told me to go to the pub or to come out of it,” Johansson told Pollstar, indicating the project he started in 2009 has far outstripped his own expectations.
