Skive Takes A Dive
Cutting the entertainment budget seriously hampered the numbers at Skive Festival June 1-4, where the crowd was nearly 10,000 down on the 22,000 that attended the Danish event last year.
At press time it wasn’t possible to get comment on the financial result, but organisers appear to have had little choice about drawing their horns.
In 2010, a bill that included Green Day, Rammstein, and White Lies fell short of the previous year’s record-breaking 24,500-capacity sellout, but the cost of the talent had some Danish papers reporting that the small town at the at the base of Salling Peninsula dropped $1 million.
The acts at this year’s Skive Festival included Tiesto, Volbeat, Kashmir, and Sort Sol.
