Dolly, Wu Tang Returning

With previous debut tours downunder by country music superstars Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn and Alan Jackson far exceeding sales expectations, Michael Chugg of Chugg Entertainment has strong expectations for Dolly Parton’s visit in November.

Parton is confirmed for seven arena shows Nov. 8-26.

It is her first visit since 1987 when she co-headlined with Kenny Rogers and shifted 230,000 tickets.

Chugg believes that since then, Parton’s audience in Australia has widened considerably through her movies and being embraced by the young gay community.

Wu Tang Clan returns for three shows through OPP Presents.

The act is here Aug. 5-7. Opening act is Phaze One, a collaboration by Australia’s ARIA-winning M-Phazes and Emilio Rojas from the U.S.

Frontier Touring announced that Devendra Banhart, announced for the Splendour in The Grass festival, will also play Sydney’s Metro Theatre July 27 and Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom July 29.
