Jamiroquai Cancels After Crew Death

Jamiroquai canceled its show at Lyon’s La Halle Tony Garnier March 24, after a French stagehand fell 50 feet to his death.

His name has not been made public as local police are said to be investigating the incident. He’s believed to have lost his footing and fallen from a rigging gantry.

The band released statement that explained the members were “shocked and saddened” by the news and had canceled the show “as a mark of respect.”

In 2009, Madonna axed one of her shows at the Velodrome stadium in Marseilles, France, after two workers died following the collapse of a stage set as they prepared for a show in her “Sticky and Sweet” world tour.
