New Star

Plans are moving forward on a potential new music venue that could be built at the site of the former Starwood Amphitheatre in Antioch, Tenn.

The Metropolitan Planning Commission reportedly voted Dec. 9 to give preliminary approval to landowners to build a 5,000-capacity music venue at the site, according to WSMV-TV.

The former Live Nation-owned property was originally to be used for a mixed-use development with town homes and retail space after the Starwood shuttered in 2006. That project never materialized. A public meeting will be held prior to the council’s vote on the subject in January.
