Doherty Suspected Of Supplying Drugs

A Metropolitan Police spokesman reportedly confirmed a 31-year-old man was arrested March 19 on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. He was bailed to return on a date in April pending further inquiries.
Two other men were arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug. One of the men and a woman were also questioned on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The body of Miss Whitehead, granddaughter of the late Teddy Goldsmith who founded The Ecologist magazine, was discovered at a flat in east London Jan. 24 after paramedics answered an emergency call. She died from a suspected drug overdose.
Doherty, a friend of Miss Whitehead, said he was “shocked and saddened” following her death. Her Web site shows pictures of Doherty with his body encased in plaster, lying on a board in a crucifixion pose.
Doherty’s most recent court appearance was before Lowestoft Magistrates Court Feb. 24, where he was found guilty of letting his manager use his car without insurance.
It is believed Andrew Boyd was driving Doherty’s Daimler when he hit a pedestrian in Hadleigh, Suffolk, on Sept. 27 last year.
Chris Corder was seriously injured in the crash and remains in a coma.
