Doherty Books New Court Appearance

Pete Doherty will appear at Gloucester Magistrates Court Jan. 27, after being arrested for heroin possession within a couple of hours of being convicted of driving charges at the local Crown Court.

He was arrested Dec. 21 after being fined £2,050 and given an 18-month driving ban after pleading guilty to charges of drunken driving and careless driving following a concert in July.

A Gloucester police spokeswoman confirmed a 30-year-old man from Wiltshire was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and that he’s been bailed to appear before Gloucester magistrates at the end of the month.

It’s also emerged Doherty could be charged with offenses linked to a hit-and-run incident in September that left a pedestrian in a critical condition.

His manager, 42-year-old Andrew Boyd, has already appeared in court charged with a number of offenses relating to the incident in Hadleigh, Suffolk.

It’s believed Doherty owned the Jaguar car that was involved in the accident.
