Toronto Promoter Dies

Lance Ingleton, a Toronto promoter, died from cancer Sept. 30 at age 56.

Ingleton began promoting reggae in the ’80s, founding the city’s LIP Entertainment. Over the years, he programmed an eclectic roster of acts such as Bad Brains, Jimmy Cliff, B.B. King, Chaka Khan and Wyclef Jean.

The promoter was also instrumental in advocating for an urban radio station in Toronto, the local Eye Weekly reported.
