Truth In Ohio

The Ohio State Senate unanimously approved a version of the Truth in Music Act May 21st to stop imposter groups from performing under famous names.

About a dozen other states have adopted the bill that artists including Mary Wilson and Jon "Bowzer" Bauman have lobbied for. The measure will next go before the Ohio House.

It would require a group to include at least one member permitted to use a band’s original name or be fined thousands of dollars.
