Cleveland’s Brown Chesney Concert

Cleveland’s Browns Stadium suffered a burst water supply line during a concert headlined by Kenny Chesney July 14th, leading to backed-up toilets and some flooding in the 73,000-seat stadium.

A Cleveland Browns spokeswoman told Pollstar the leak was unrelated to the 9-hour concert, which featured Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Sara Evans, Sugarland and Pat Green, and could have happened at any time.

Most of the flooding affected the stadium’s service level away from the estimated 50,000 fans, she said. Nearly half of the 83 bathrooms became inoperable and were shut down. Fans e-mailed into a local television station, complaining of "disgusting" conditions.

"While the situation brought back memories of the old Browns Municipal Stadium with people urinating in sinks, the reality of this situation was much more unsanitary," one person told 19 Action News.

Two football-related events scheduled for early August were canceled. Repairs are under way, with the venue and local authorities planning to have the situation under control before the team’s first preseason game August 11th.
