Parnelli Awards Winners

Live Event professionals were honored for their contributions to the biz at this year’s Parnelli Awards at Orlando, Fla.’s Rosen Center Ballroom November 11th. The event is sponsored by PLSN and FOH magazines.

Legendary tour manager Patrick Stansfield walked away with the highest honor – the Parnelli lifetime achievement award – for his four decades in the business working with Neil Diamond, The Rolling Stones, Santana, Bob Dylan, and Barbra Streisand.

Set/scenic designer of the year went to Mark Fisher for his work on The Rolling Stones’ “A Bigger Bang” tour.

For their work with U2, Jake Berry was named production manager of the year and Dave Skaff won monitor mixer of the year.

Dave “Rat” Levine of Rat Sound scored the front-of-the-house mixer honor for his time with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The 2005 Parnelli innovator award was handed to Bruce Jackson, who has mixed sound for Barbra Streisand, Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Presley.

David Milam received the tour manager of the year trophy for Toby Keith‘s “Big Throwdown” jaunt.

Lighting designer of the year went to Marilyn Lowey for her long partnership with Neil Diamond. Green Day‘s lighting company, Ed & Ted’s Excellent Lighting, collected lighting company of the year honors.

Other winners included: Theatrical Lighting Systems (regional lighting company of the year), All Access Staging & Productions and Tait Towers (tie: set construction), Mountain Productions (staging company), Atlanta Rigging Systems (rigging company), Clair Brothers (sound company), Mid-America Sound (regional sound company), Ziggy’s Custom Coaches (coach company), Upstaging (trucking company), Rock-It Cargo (freight forwarding company), XL Video (video rental company) and Pyrotek Special Effects (pyro company).
