Elton John Announces Final North American Dates For ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour’

Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour – and his touring career is general – is coming to a close this year but first fans will have a few more chances to say goodbye and revel in the spectacle of his live show. The beloved performer has announced 11 stadium dates marking the final shows of his North American tour, including an additional night at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium.

“It’s hard to believe that after tomorrow in St. Louis, I’ll have just a handful of shows left before I wrap up my final arena performances in the United States,” Elton posted on socials March 29. “This year will see my grand finale in North America, playing stadiums all around the country, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had. Thank you for sharing this journey with me. I cherish these memories we’re making together. It has been nothing short of incredible and I look forward to seeing you very soon one last time, on my Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.”

Elton takes the stage tonight at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, a show that was originally scheduled July 7, 2020. Rescheduled North American arena shows are booked through late April. After that Elton heads to Europe in May.

His previously announced North American stadium run kicks off July 15 at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park.

The new run of stadium dates include Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., July 27; Toronto’s Rogers Centre Sept. 8; two nights at the Tacoma Dome in Washington, Oct. 16-17; Petco Park in San Diego Nov. 9 and Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz., Nov. 11.

Elton wraps up his epic farewell party with three nights at Dodger Stadium including the new show Nov. 17 and previously announced gigs Nov. 19-20. As fans know, Dodger Stadium is the site of one of Elton’s most iconic performances.

The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour kicked off in September 2018, encompassing five continents and over 350 shows. The tour was named Billboard’s Top Rock Tour in 2019 and in February 2020 Elton stopped by the Pollstar Awards to pick up his award for Major Tour Of The Year.

“When I played The Troubadour in 1970, I had an agent in Howard Rose who’s still my agent,” Sir Elton said during his acceptance speech.. “I think that’s pretty amazing, 50 years. He’s guided me through a minefield and made my career interesting.”

Since that first tour in 1970, Elton has played more than 4,000 performances in more than 80 countries during his impressive five-decade career.

Elton ranked No. 11 on Pollstar’s list of the “Top Touring Artists Of The Decade,” released in November 2019, with a gross of $675,886,369.

The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour is promoted by AEG Presents and presented by Alliance for Lifetime Income.

An American Express card members presale began Wednesday, March 30 at 10 a.m. local time. A limited number of VIP packages are available including reserved seated tickets, photo opportunities at Elton John’s piano, backstage tours, limited-edition lithographs and custom merchandise. Tickets go on sale to the public Wednesday, April 6 at 10 a.m. local time.
