Jay Z’s Made In America Festival Canceled Again
For the second year running, Philadelphia’s Made In America festival has been canceled.
The Labor Day Weekend event, produced by Jay Z’s Roc Nation in conjunction with Live Nation, announced its cancelation via social media Wednesday.
“Made in America will not take place in 2024. As purveyors of change, the Made in America executive production team is reimagining a live music experience that affirms our love and dedication to music and the work we do. We promise an exciting return to the festival,” the statement read.
No lineup announcement had been made.
Last year’s event was canceled in August. Lizzo was the scheduled headliner and the cancelation came on the heels of explosive allegations levied against her by her former back-up dancers.
Made In America began in 2012 with Jay Z co-headlining with Pearl Jam and continued for the next decade, taking 2020 off for the pandemic. Its most recent edition, in 2022, was headlined by Bad Bunny.
The festival reported to Pollstar Boxoffice in 2013 ($7.1 million gross on 110,381 tickets), 2016 ($6.5 million on 91,822) and 2017 ($8.1 million on 111,189).
