2024 Impact 50 Honoree: Stacy Vee
EVP
Goldenvoice
YEARS IN THE BIZ: 26
FIRST BIZ JOB: Promotion Director at a radio station in Minneapolis
Stacy Vee applies her “Coachella brain” and background to her role producing and booking Coachella’s country cousin, Stagecoach, which seemed hotter than ever and just enjoyed a sell-out crowd of up to 75,000 during the three-day event in Indio, California.
“Selling out Stagecoach so far in advance and witnessing what I did this year will be something I remember for the rest of my life,” said Vee, who was named EVP of AEG Presents subsidiary Goldenvoice in August 2023. “Every single creative risk I took worked and I saw our fans embrace all music with open arms.”
Vee clearly is invested in taking chances and blending genres and believes country fans are music enthusiasts willing to embrace discovery. This year, after headlining two Fridays at Coachella, Lana Del Rey made a surprise Stagecoach appearance on April 26. Jelly Roll, who turned up for a duet on “Rockstar” with Nickelback, included T-Pain in his set. Post Malone performed a collection of country covers with special guests Brad Paisley and Dwight Yoakam.
“Watching artists stick around all weekend and hop on with each other was also incredibly gratifying, it is such a beautiful community,” she said.
The industry has expressed its appreciation in return. Vee is a three-time Pollstar and two-time International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA) Talent Buyer of the Year and is a member of the Country Music Association board.
Vee found success by sticking to a personal code.
“I stick to a motto that I have written on everything and I go back to it over and over when it comes to booking and running the show, which is ‘Stagecoach is a place where all are welcome and we are focused on creating the country music culture of tomorrow,’”
said Vee. “This is something that applies to the lineup and the patrons, of course, but it also applies to the back of house. This show is nothing without my colleagues who give their whole heart to this show.”
