Veteran promoter Don Strasburg has been named President, Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest regions, AEG Presents announced today.

In his new, expanded role, Strasburg will continue to be based out of Denver where he will have sole oversight of AEG’s regional offices in Denver and Seattle, managing a team that books concerts from clubs to stadiums in the region.

“The teams at AEG Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest exemplify a passion for the live experience and a flawless attention to detail,” Strasburg stated, “We all take our mission of helping artists bring the greatest experiences to our community very seriously. I am honored to lead these talented people.”

Shawn Trell, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and General Counsel, AEG Presents, added, “Don has a drive to win and succeed that is unmatched. He’s got an almost innate sense of knowing what the audience wants and where the trends are heading.”

Strasburg started promoting shows in college in 1990 and was integral in bringing Phish out to Colorado for their 1990 excursion. In 1992, along with a few partners, he opened the Fox Theatre in Boulder Colorado (a venue with which he remains active).

He joined forces with Chuck Morris and Brent Fedrizzi to launch Bill Graham Presents/Chuck Morris Presents in 1998. Through a series of acquisitions including SFX and Clear Channel Entertainment, that company would eventually become Live Nation in 2005. Strasburg remained there for 9 years before leaving with Morris and Fedrizzi to join AEG Live.

They quickly established themselves as the dominant force in one of the most competitive and active live music markets in the country and now promote more than 1,100 events annually at a variety of venues including Mission Ballroom, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Fiddlers Green Amphitheatre, and Ball Arena, among many others.

In addition to his work at AEG Presents, Strasburg is a board member of Headcount, a national non-profit organization that works with musicians to promote participation in democracy in the US, and the Conscious Alliance, a community of bands, brands, artists, and fans on a mission to end hunger nationwide.
