People magazine reported that a rep for the VH1 reality show confirmed that K-Fed was joining next season’s cast. The 60-minute show features eight celebrities (the term “celeb” is obviously used lightly) as they split into teams and try to reach their target goal weights with the help of a nutritionist, a psychologist, and a physical trainer.

K-Fed has recently been dubbed K-Overfed by meanies on the Internets after unflattering pictures started showing up online documenting his drastic weight gain.

The pictures were seen as shocking because when K-Fed first met Spears in 2004, he had a fit physique from performing as a back-up dancer for artists such asJustin Timberlake, Pink and Michael Jackson.

Federline is a reality show veteran – in 2005 he and Britney appeared on “Britney & Kevin: Chaotic,” a five-episode series that ran on UPN and documented the couple’s relationship from their initial meet-up to Sept. 2004 wedding. The chaotic couple divorced less than two years after marrying.

MTV reported in July that K-Fed was trying to shop a reality show to VH1 about his life with his new girlfriend, Victoria Prince, and his two sons with Spears, Jayden James and Sean Preston.

Could a reality show have been the ultimate goal behind K-Fed’s weight gain? Maybe the fomer dancer/ rapper/ model started eating more and more cheeseburgers, pizza and milkshakes with the hope of landing the “Celebrity Fit Club” gig – and then ultimately his own spin-off reality show.

There should be some good drama on next season’s “Fit Club” because Federline’s ex-girlfriend and mother of two of his other children, actress Shar Jackson, is reportedly also going to appear on the show.

K-Fed left Jackson to date Spears.

According to TMZ, former “Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert and Whitney Houston‘s ex-husband, Bobby Brown, will also be competing to reach their goal weights.

The new season of “Celebrity Fit Club” is set to premier Feb. 14, 2010.
