If you don’t have any pressing appointments in about an hour, you’re going to want to stay right were you are to catch the live debut of the Deftones brand spankin’ new album, Diamond Eyes.
The band will perform an hour long global webcast from Dallas beginning at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PST. Just prior to the performance Deftones will answer questions from fans lucky enough to be right where the action is.
Diamond Eyes, the group’s sixth release, hit the streets today. The album was cut in only six months after the band finished recording another full album, Eros, and then decided to shelve it and start over.
“Honestly, I knew there was something better to come,” frontman and guitarist Chino Moreno said.
Not all the band’s members were so sure trashing a complete album was a good thing to do.
“Each one was getting to be like pulling teeth, and beyond – maybe like surgery without anesthesia,” drummer Abe Cunningham said about the recording process. “But this time we just said f**k it, we’re still best friends, all of us – and we’re still able to do this. So we just lightened up and got creative and we’re firing on all cylinders.”
