John Fogerty To Showcase Albums

Sure, you count on plenty of CCR hits at a John Fogerty concert. Songs like “Proud Mary,” “Fortunate Son” and “Down On The Corner” are as expected at one of his shows as, say, “Roundabout” at a Yes concert or “Born To Run” when Bruce Springsteen performs with The E Street Band.

However, Fogerty’s two upcoming November gigs in New York City and a one-night-only performance in Atlantic City will feature the hits as well as Creedence tunes you seldom hear on classic rock radio stations.

During two evenings titled “Looking Out My Back Door: John Fogerty Performs Live! The Albums Of Creedence Clearwater Revival” set for NYC’s Beacon Theatre Nov. 17 and 18, the legendary singer/songwriter will present’s CCR’s Cosmo’s Factory album in its entirety the first night, Green River on the following evening.

Two nights later Fogerty will revisit Cosmo’s Factory when he gives the album a second run-through during a gig in Atlantic City at Circus Maximus Theater at Caesars.

Both albums contain plenty of famous CCR tunes. Released in 1970, Cosmo’s Factory gave the world “Travelin’ Band, “Looking Out My Back Door,” “Run Through The Jungle,” “Up Around The Bend,” “Who’ll Stop The Rain” and Creedence’s famous cover of the soul classic “Heard It Th rough The Grapevine” along with “Ramble Tamble,” “Long As I Can See The Light” and “Ooby Dooby.”

Released one year before Cosmo’s Factory, Green River was CCR’s third album. In addition to the title track, Green River also includes “Bad Moon Rising” and “Lodi” along with “Commotion,” “Tombstone Shadow,” “Wrote A Song For Everyone” “Cross-Tie Walker,” Sinister Purpose” and the Nappy Brown, Ozzie Cadena, Lew Herman-penned “The Night Time Is The Right Time.”

In addition to performing one album each evening, Fogerty will also serve up a bonus set mixing other CCR classics with his own solo catalog.

The general onsale for Atlantic City begins Friday. An Internet pre-sale for the New York City shows begins Saturday at 8 a.m. Eastern Time.
