Taking place July 23-27 in Big Indiana, N.Y., at the Full Moon Resort, this year’s Musical Revival Camp includes special guests Mark Volman (The Turtles / Mothers Of Invention / Flo & Eddie) and Peter Buck (R.E.M.). Also making the journey to the Catskills this year will be Paul Fishkin, who at one time was co-owner/president of Bearsville Records and managed Rundgren’s first band, Woody’s Truck Stop.

Presented as a five-day vacation where attendees can hang with musicians while enjoying the great outdoors, each evening will feature jam sessions with Host Rundgren along with bassist Kasim Sulton, guitarist Jesse Gress and drummer Gregg Bendian. Guests Volman and Buck will join the jam sessions on their respective days.
But other than the music, the camp’s schedule appears to be similar to other camps in that it has plenty of camp-like activities such as hiking, crafts and sports. Sadly missing from the schedule is that summer camp institution known as the ‘snipe hunt,’ but we’re sure Todd will think of something to replace it.

Here’s the daily activities list (for July 24-26):

8-9 a.m. – breakfast, orientation
10-11 a.m. – daily hike, individual activities (classes, crafts, biking, massage, etc.)
12-1 p.m. – meet the special guest
1-2 p.m. – lunch, Todd Rundgren’s daily cooking lesson
2-4 p.m. – team sports, individual activities
5-6 p.m. cocktails & pupus by the pool
6:30-8 p.m. dinner & entertainment
8:30-9:30 p.m. – night games (Capture The Flag, scavenger hunt, etc.)
10:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. – roadhouse jams

Presented as part of the Music Masters Camp series at Full Moon Resort and with accommodations ranging from simple B&B-style rooms and kitchens to primitive campsites, Todd Rundgren’s Musical Revival Camp just might be what you need to recharge the ol’ batteries.
