Before you discount William Shatner’s one-man show as just another actor trying to squeeze a few bucks out of an admiring public, you gotta ask yourself: did Bono ever captain a starship? Did Lady Gaga ever walk the streets as a uniformed patrol officer? Did Bruce Springsteen ever work at a prestigious Boston law firm?

Just roles, you say? Just some time spent before cameras spouting lines? Well, maybe. But there is absolutely no doubt Shatner would do those things in real life if he could. For many people Shatner is Captain James T. Kirk, T.J. Hooker and Denny Crane.

And don’t forget about Shatner’s music legacy and his timeless interpretations of The Beatles’ “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,” Bob Dylan’s “Mr. Tambourine Man” and Harry Chapin’s “Taxi.”

Shatner’s 90-minute show features the actor talking about his life and career, not only in film and television, but in music. His 2004 album, Has Been, received critical accolades and he’s much in demand whenever a song needs that certain Shat touch.
