Helpmann Noms: Bluesfest, Vivid Live

Bluesfest, Vivid Live, Laneway and Falls Music & Arts were nominated for Best Contemporary Music Festival in this year’s Helpmann Awards.

Also covering opera, classical, theatre, musicals, cabaret and comedy, among others, the awards ceremony is Aug. 18 at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre and broadcast on Foxtel’s Arena channel.

The nominations for 41 categories were announced simultaneously July 14 at events in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Perth.

Tours by electronica producer Flume (Lunatic Entertainment & Chugg Entertainment), psychedelic rock band Tame Impala (Chugg Entertainment), the reunited Hunters & Collectors (Frontier Touring & Roundhouse Entertainment) and electro-pop act The Presets’ collaboration with the Australian Chamber Orchestra at Sydney Opera House received noms for Best Australian Contemporary Concert.

Up for Best International Contemporary Concert are The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour starring Beyoncé (Live Nation), Eddie Vedder (Chugg Entertainment), Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (Frontier Touring) and Pink’s The Truth About Love tour (Live Nation).
