Cuba Gooding Sr. Dies
Cuba Gooding Sr., 72, was found dead in a car on Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills, Calif., April 20.
The soul singer, who was known for the hit “Everybody Plays The Fool,” was the lead vocalist for the group The Main Ingredient. Police were investigating the scene at press time but it did not appear to be a homicide, according to KABC-TV.
Pollstar was alerted to the situation by Gooding’s former manager, John Williams, who said the singer was “a good man.”
The singer is also known as the father of Cuba Gooding Jr., winner of the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “Jerry Maguire.”
