Live performances virtually stopped in 2020 and much of 2021, but artist development did not. What many artists found when the world re-started was a situation where their following and demand were farther along than their touring history would normally be, creating situations where these artists might be capable of playing bigger rooms than they were actually experienced enough to pull off. For others, the whole touring dynamic is a new and exciting frontier, requiring skillful management and a more strategic plan than ever. As fans and artists both were reminded, streaming is a completely different animal than performing live in front of actual people. It’s also worth noting that there are a lot of fans out there who are also new to the live event experience, from club to festival level. Let’s discuss!

What tent poles are you most proud of in your career?
Since day one as an assistant at CAA, building a roster and providing a platform for diverse, female fronted talent has always been the goal. Tirelessly trying to realize that vision and understanding I wouldn’t be able to make it happen without the incredible women that paved the way makes me most proud.

Why must everyone go to this panel?
Artist development is at the heart of what we do and these last two years have been unprecedented. The more information we can share with each other as we move forward, the better.
What story will you tell during the panel?
I want to touch on the strategies we implemented for a few young pop acts all of whom saw their profiles skyrocket during the pandemic and shed light on how we transitioned that momentum into meaningful, live experiences.
What’s the story you won’t tell?
I’m an open book.
What may cause tempers to flare?
I didn’t subscribe to every meditation app on earth to deal with flared tempers more than I have to 🙂
What was the best part of your 2021?
The return of an epic Lollapalooza and travelling to the Middle East with my husband.
Can you give us a prediction for a highlight of 2022?
We have so much to look forward to, but I think HAIM at the Hollywood Bowl is going to be a really magical moment. I grew up in the valley and spent the majority of my teen years sneaking into the now defunct Unknown Theater to watch them play in front of a crowd of maybe 50 people. Working with them and having an opportunity to witness their greatness inspires me every day. Tears will be shed on May 1.
