Fatboy Slim Returns Home
On July 13, 2002, UK music history was made when 250,000 ravers flocked to Brighton Beach in England, for a party dubbed Big Beach Boutique, headlined by Fatboy Slim and Midfield General. The official mix compilation remains a cult favourite two decades later and the mythology around the event has only grown in the years since.
Fatboy Slim returns to his home of choice Brighton to celebrate this iconic event’s 20th anniversary, July 22, with a lineup of very special guests yet to be announced.
Unlike 20 years ago, this time there’ll be an entire weekend of acts to check out on Brighton Beach. Carl Cox and special guests will take over on Saturday, July 23, and drum & bass pioneers Andy C, Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Shy FX, Dimension, Friction, and Harriet Jaxxon have been confirmed for Sunday, July 24.
Junction 2 Festival Moves
Due to COVID related building delays on the home of the festival, Junction 2 Festival will be moving from its usual location at Boston Manor Park to Trent Park, just outside London, for its 2022 edition, June 18-19.
The latest lineup additions include Maribou State DJ, George FitzGerald Live, Mount Kimbie, Romy, TSHA, Ela Minus Live, Max Cooper Live, Ben Böhmer Live, and Theo Nasa. They join previously announced Jon Hopkins, Avalon Emerson, Chaos in the CBD, Four Tet, Zenker Brothers, Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Omar, and more. Maceo Plex will perform on both days.
Will Harold, founder of Junction 2, commented, “It has been quite a journey through COVID 19, to come through that and find Boston Manor Park is unavailable to us in 2022 was a real body blow. We are so disappointed as a team, but at the same time we have been feel honored at the sheer volume of people who have waited patiently to see this epic line up, so the show must go on, and are determined that we will deliver this Festival in true J2 spirit to repay your support and loyalty.
“We have worked in Trent park many times before so we know the space, its strengths and crucially that we can achieve great sound. After such a long wait, I’m excited to get back to doing what Junction 2 does best.”
