After 40 shows between September and March, U2 wrapped its groundbreaking run at Sphere in Las Vegas March 2, as the technological wonder completed its debut series.

U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere” grossed $244,478,903 on 662,532 tickets according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports. U2 landed in the Top 20 in Pollstar‘s year-end rankings after just the first tranche of shows at Sphere.

Among those fans was drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who was unable to play with his bandmates while recovering from surgery. Mullen was in the crowd March 1.

Bono introduced Mullen — there were rumors he would be performing — noting that it was he who posted the notice on the bulletin board at the school that led to U2’s formation. The band dedicated “Beautiful Day” to Mullen.

“What an incredible night at Sphere. So grateful to Bono, Edge and Adam and of course Bram for an amazing job, very emotional night for me personally,” Mullen said, according to a press release.

Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom presented the “Key to the Las Vegas Strip” to Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Bram Van Den Berg (sitting in on drums for Larry Mullen Jr.) by Clark County Commissioner, Tick Segerblom. The Commissioner applauded the band for delivering 40 incredible concerts to fans in Las Vegas, proclaiming March 2 “U2 Day.”

The next set of concers at Sphere will be Phish in April, followed by Dead & Co.’s run in May and June.
