Phillips will join singer Kid Rock and actor Vince Vaughn as pre-race entertainment for NASCAR’s Feb. 22 second opener at Daytona International Speedway. Kid Rock will perform a pre-race concert in the infield, and Vaughn will serve as grand marshal and give the command to start engines.

Phillips released his second album last May. The 24-year-old Georgia native has toured the world since winning season 11 of “American Idol.” He joined Matchbox Twenty and John Mayer on stage with Bruce Springsteen at the 2013 . He spent last summer on a co-headline tour with O.A.R. and headlined a national tour last fall.
