Celebrating Hispanic History: Gloria Trevi / Alejandra Guzmán ‘Versus’ Co-Bill Culminates With Three-Night Mexico City Sellout

The 2017-18 “Versus” tour was a meeting of Mexican media moguls, featuring touring powerhouses Gloria Trevi, known as the “Supreme Diva of Mexican Pop” and wildly popular singer Alejandra Guzmán.
After putting out the collaborative album Versus and a media campaign to announce the tour, the pair set out on a massive two-leg tour of 70-plus shows, with dates in North America (including Canada), South America and the Caribbean.

Appropriately, the tour was a smash in the singers’ native Mexico, with the highest grossing coming over three nights in June 2017 at Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, selling out at a combined 66,000 tickets and grossing $2.3 million.
The “Versus” shows trail behind only two-night engagements from Bruno Mars and Katy Perry as the venue’s top-grossing event in Pollstar‘s records.
Other major stops on the “Versus” tour included another three shows at Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico, which moved another 42,000 tickets and grossed just shy of $2 million. The tour also had smash hits above the border, with particularly strong shows in California, hitting multiple cities on multiple tour legs, including two nights at Staples Center in Los Angeles ($2.1 million grossed) and closing at the Hollywood Bowl ($1 million grossed) in April 2018. Other strong showings include New York at Madison Square Garden ($807,000 grossed) and Chicago at Allstate Arena, (13,195 tickets, $937,920).
Data reported to Pollstar put the combined 2017-2018 touring at $34.8 million grossed on with 532,716 tickets sold.
