Sziget CEO Tamás Kádár said the list of main stage headliners was now complete. In addition to the music program, he highlighted other important developments for this year’s festival, including measures taken to tackle problems caused by last year’s drought, which has affected large parts of mainland Europe.
Kádár explained, “First, our art project ‘Art of Freedom’ will return to Sziget in 2023, visually enriching the festival grounds with eye-catching, thought-provoking artworks and spatial installations. We will address the problem of last year’s unusual drought with different measures. We ‘re-vegetated’ our island at the end of last year to address the deficiencies in the grass caused by the drought. We are working to ensure that we can provide continuous irrigation with water from the Danube River in the event of a drought. In addition, we are using a new dust prevention method throughout the festival site, using humidity to create a slightly damp layer on the ground to prevent dust from becoming airborne.”
Tickets for Sziget 2023 are on sale. Day tickets start at €75 ($80), full festival tickets start at €349 ($379).
